hundreds of gallons of fuel came gushing out. >> our locomotives are diesel electric, and the metal debris punctured the fuel tank. it's kind of a long, metal tube. we're looking into that. we really don't know how it got to be on the tracks. >> no one was hurt. passengers were shuttled by bus. the spill remains under investigation. we are learning more information in the case of two men shot this morning. investigators say the suspect had some type of air gun, not a fake or replica as previously believed. about 2:00 this morning, two groups of men got into an confrontation. a bystander flagged down two officers who opened fire when gun. that man and another man were hit and remain in hospitalized

condition. a shooting at a party in concord has left one man dead. police say the two men into the into a fight in a parking lot about 8:30 last night. police arrived and found the body of a 25-year-old man. witnesses gave information about the other suspect. police found a 29-year-old man just a few blocks away. he was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of first-degree murder. friends are remembering a photographer hit and killed by a stray bullet monday night. >> terry, good evening. police say that 54-year-old lionel fluker was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now his family and friends are struggling to cope with the suddenness of his death.

he wasn't driving home from the gym friday night when he was caught in the line of fire. police say another man who was the intended target of the shooting was injured by fluker did not survive. lionel fluker was a freelance photographer for the oakland tribune from 1995 to 2007. he already had a career as a computer engineer but discovered a love for photographer while at the trib. the director says fluker's two big loves in life were his family and taking photos. >> it's just so sad to see a life like this taken away so senselessly. he loved his daughter and talked about her daily. and was just very proud, and we were all very proud of him too because he was such a good guy. >> reporter: and knick lamer has also shared some of his photos with us, whether he was shooting celebrities or shorts, he had a real love for the profession.

commemorates the giants' win, the players most looked forward to the ring ceremony, and that's because it's their own momento of what they've accomplished. now, the 2012 rings are much bigger than the ones created in 2010, but these rings were also designed to reflect the unique circumstances of the 2012 postseason for the giants. of course the giants faced six elimination games in those playoffs and had the four-game sweep of detroit. all of that is depicted in the creation of this ring and the players were anxious to get their first look. >> to unite this city, and this team did it. and we will never forget it. and that's what this team represents. the world series most valuable

relief for drivers at bay area gas stations. nationwide, prices at the pump have dropped 15 cents since the end of february. national average is now $3.64 a gallon. analysts credit falling crude oil prices for the drop. in oakland, the price it $4.01 compared to $4.14 a month ago. here in san jose, the average price is $4.01 per gallon, down

coppenhagen. a young southern california man is enjoying his first night home tonight after a hiking trip turned into a fight for survival. the 19-year-old was rescued on wednesday after spending four days stranded and hurt. today he was released from the hospital and shared some of his experiences. jane from our nbc station in los angeles was there and has this report. >> reporter: getting ready to leave the hospital, 19-year-old nicholas cendoya was anxious to go home. walking out of the hospital with his family, he didn't break any bones but lost 15 pounds and still lots of little scratches covering his arms. >> honestly, the last thing i could tell you was being on the cliff, making the 911 call. i told her, if we don't get out of here, we're going to die.

>> reporter: nicholas doesn't remember what happened next. he suffered a concussion from a fall. >> now that they told me i suffered a trauma, maybe i fell and we both split ways. >> reporter: nicholas was stranded for four days, no food or water. >> i ended eating plants, anything i could do to survive. >> reporter: he said he was starting to hallucinate. >> i was seeing -- i'm going to be honest with you, i was seeing tigers. >> reporter: nicholas remembers hearing people but didn't know if he was dreaming. he was found less than a mile from where he parked his car. >> that night i had the most fear. death, definitely, because i knew i was going to die. i spent all my energy that day. that was meant by god. like, we weren't meant to die. >> that was jany amimoto reporting.

he was rushed to the hospital. cendoya says he can't wait to visit her in the hospital. one of the west coast's longest surviving heart transplant patients got his wish fulfilled today when he was temporarily released from the hospital to attend a giants' baseball game. he received a heart transplant when he was 3 years old. he's now hospitalized in santa clara for continuing care. >> what's really exciting is he had bought tickets for april 22nd, and since it wasn't clear he would make it to that game, the organization here made it possible for him to get out of the hospital today to attend. >> i'm thankful for it. >> kaiser arranged for an ambulance to take him to the game. meteorologist rob moretta

joins us to talk about rain in our forecast. >> as we come to the morning commute tomorrow, looks like a lot of it will fall overnight. and then the wind as we head into the morning. outside san jose, partly cloudy skies, close to 70 degrees. pack to the north, around san francisco, the clouds starting to fill on in. the giants flag showing you the sea breeze pointing off to the right. and those winds will be part of the weather story. right now, 61 degrees in san jose, winds picking up right now. kind of a sea breeze during the day tomorrow. northwesterly winds for monday. yes, a quick chance of rain tonight. windy during the day tomorrow. then we'll get less wind and more warming for the middle part of the week. wind advisories for the ring hills east of san jose. along the coastal mountains

we'll see this wind advisories for gusts close to 40 miles per hour. watch out for that through 8:00 tomorrow evening. in terms of the rain, you can see spilling towards the bay area, this is 11:00, but watch as we go forward in time. maybe just some lingering showers in the hills of san jose around 3:00 in the morning. as the sun comes up, the wind will be kicking in around sunrise and picking up during day. this system is going to dive down to east of the sierra. so as high pressure builds in behind it, the battle between the high and low will set us up for dry conditions. but gusty winds monday. that low will move past the rockies. rain totals, probably a .10 of an inch of rain.

in the sierra, be prepared for some winter-like driving conditions. about a half foot of snow due during the morning hours tomorrow. watch out for that if you're going to head out to reno. as the rain shouts down, cooler and drier air. high temperatures probably cooler in parts of the south bay there. you saw the east bay, mid to upper 60. winds backing off on tuesday, then wednesday, look at the numbers. close to 707 on the coast. 70s and 80s. and as the winds turn slightly offshore, we'll see the numbers cooling off. towards the end of the week, a little bit of cooling but staying dry. this system could be the last for a while and then we'll see a real taste of spring, almost summer-like there. >> 82 degrees. >> that's warming up. we'll be back with a
